Publications Staff:
This is the highly talented group of Foothills Academy students responsible for both our yearbook and newspaper. Work on our publications team is a fully credited academic elective, open to grades 10, 11, and 12. If you think you have what it takes, talk to faculty moderator Carolyn Smith.
Newspaper:
The Academy is our monthly campus newspaper. Originally named Scorpion Tales, it became The Academy in 2007. Below is the first issue so named.
Yearbook:
The Sage is our yearbook. It's had many names over the years, but bacme The Sage in 2006-2007. Photos, layout, cover design, content, it's all up to the students (with the supervision of our faculty moderator). Each year brings a new and unique design reflecting the character of the graduating class. Our yearbook contains the usual student and faculty photos, documents significant events on campus, and provides an historic record of the academic year. From 1993 to 1995 we didn't have an official yearbook, but in 1996 our story was begun. Our original theme was "May the circle be unbroken," a sentiment from the 1970's that expressed the spirit of community pervading our school. In 2001-2002, the theme evolved to reflect a changing world-view. Each yearbook is a snapshot of our culture, and a treasure to be preserved.
Yearbook Supplement:
Our yearbook is printed and released before the end of the school year to allow for distribution and signing activities. Of course, this means we can't include photos of the many exciting events that occur in the last few weeks. Academic and athletic awards, Prom, Graduation, and other highlights would be missed.
